Stock market investing for dummies, like me
Let me introduce myself.
My name is Mike Smith and I am Fred’s brother. Fred has invited me to write about my experiences losing money in the stock market and I have agreed. I figure that I can help prevent you from making the mistakes that I make and save you money in the process.
Fred is more interested in real estate investing since, if done correctly, can produce stable, positive cash flow streams on a monthly basis. I am more interested in stock market investing probably because of my all-or-nothing personality, the attractiveness of risk-taking and potential for big rewards.
But stock market investing is much, much harder than it sounds, looks, smells or tastes. It is not for the faint of heart. It is much easier to lose money than it is to make it. Unfortunately, like most retail, non-professional investors I have lost a lot (by my humble standards) of money.
In the process of losing money in the stock market, I am learning all the ways not to make money, which in turn help me narrow down the ways to actually make money. In this blog, I will write about my hellish experiences with stock market investing, options, newsletters, value-investing, ETFs, etc. and all the components that go into my learning experience.
If you ever have any questions and want to share your experience, feel free to contact me.
